About A Touch of Bass
The information contained in A Touch of Bass was gathered from a number of sources including census reports, cemetery records, birth, marriage & death records and most importantly, members of this family. I have spent years compiling the information contained here. Many thanks to all those who have put up with my endless questions over the years (I still have lots more!). I present this in hopes that others who have information or wish to contribute their own will do so. This is my gift to our family in hopes that generations to come will know who they are and where they came from. If we don't gather the leaves of our family to press in our "Family Bible" they will eventually wither and turn to dust and be given to the whim of the winds, lost for always. By preserving these "leaves" maybe other roots will grow and new saplings sprout to shade generations to come in their love and knowledge of who they are and where they came from. Our ancestors gave a lot of themselves so we could become who we are. The same blood that ran through their veins and in some cases, stained the ground, runs through ours. Robert E. Lee said, "Any person who does not honor their ancestor does not deserve to be remembered by their descendants."

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
